Announcement from Bluegum Suffolk Horses

Historic First – three American Suffolk Horse foals arrive in Australia 21 May 2018

Bluegum Suffolk Horses, Queensland, are delighted to announce the safe arrival of two young fillies and a colt from the United States of America.

These three Suffolk foals are making history.   They are the first ever export of Suffolk Horses from the United States of America to Australia.   The foals are all fully registered with the American Suffolk Horse Association.

Each foal comes from a separate Suffolk Punch breeder, spread across the USA:  Michigan, New Hampshire and Texas.

What is even more remarkable is the altruism and generosity of the breeders.   Each one has donated their foal to Bluegum Suffolk Horses and demonstrates their combined commitment to the continuance of the Suffolk Punch horse.

A spokesperson for Bluegum Suffolk Horses said:   “I don’t think it is possible to put into words just what the gift of these foals means to us nor the depth of our gratitude. To us it is a statement of belief on the part of the American breeders that here in Australia, we will do the right thing by their young stock“.

For now, the young Suffolk Horses will rest and recuperate after their prolonged journey and become acclimatised to their new home.

When they are of an age for breeding, all progeny whether American Suffolk to American Suffolk, or American Suffolk to English registered Suffolk, are eligible for full registration with the American Suffolk Horse Association.
