The Figures Say it All
Perhaps there will be one or two more foals listed on the Suffolk Horse Society webpage’s “Foal Watch” for 2021. This section on the SHS website is only for those foals deemed ‘pure’ by the Society. As of 17 June 2021, numbers in this category are : 17 colts and 12 fillies.
But of course there are other Suffolk foals born. From facebook, as at 17 June 2021: 2 colts and 6 fillies. When added in, the gender disparity is reduced. And diversity is increased even with the two or three extra stallions used There may well be more ‘AA’ foals born but their owners may have chosen not to post on social media.
With such tiny numbers of foals born in the UK, every single foal is vital and urgently needed.
